1. ARE YOU SEEING SIGNS AMONG YOUR CLIENTS/ IN THE MARKET IN GENERAL THAT COMPANIES ARE OVERHAULING THEIR SUPPLY CHAIN STRATEGY, E.G. BY MEANS OF REGIONALISATION?


 

BB «I am not currently seeing a trend towards regionalisation. It may be suitable for some industries, but I believe that the key question is ‘How can we make supply chains more resilient? Are the lead times about right or do we need more leeway? We are still working hard to increase transparency and manageability in collaborative networks.»

DIGITALISATION IN FOCUS: MANY COMPANIES SAY THAT COVID-19 HAS GIVEN THEIR DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION EXTRA MOMENTUM. WHAT IS YOUR ASSESSMENT?

BB «ven supposedly well-placed companies have been catapulted out of their comfort zone due to the prolonged nature of the pandemic. As a result, the pressure has increased considerably to raise efficiency, especially in capital-intensive areas. Digitalisation is a key factor in this regard, but efficiency is only one side of the coin. The change is predominantly being shaped by the fact that companies are having to rethink their business models. In my view, this is where real opportunities lie.»
